The challenge
The investor needed an independent view of the asset base's fair value, condition and remaining life, together with an assessment of process safety and environmental compliance gaps that could affect price and post-deal capex.
Our approach
Our team physically verified and tagged over 2,000 assets, assessed condition and remaining life, reviewed maintenance and inspection histories, and benchmarked replacement costs. In parallel we reviewed HAZOP records, statutory inspections and effluent compliance, producing a prioritised capex and remediation register.
The outcome
The valuation was accepted by the investor's auditors and lenders. The compliance and capex findings were reflected in the transaction structure and formed the basis of the 100-day post-acquisition engineering plan.
